Healed With Scars, a non-profit organization, has been formed to reach the hidden burn survivor and to prevent burn survivors from hiding.Our services are for burn survivors 18 years of age and older. We also offer support services for family members of adolescent burn survivors.

Healed With Scars - History

Rosemary Washington (president) was in a car accident twenty years ago that left her severely disfigured. Throughout her years as a burn survivor she has seen many changes in medicine and ways to help survivors look "normal". She has had many surgeries to undo what fire has destroyed. Over the years she would go out of state to visit burn camps and attend conferences for survivors. In recent years she decided to start Healed With Scars, a non-profit organization to encourage and help build self-esteem in those like her. This local organization holds monthly meetings for survivors and their families. The meetings include times of sharing, resources, information and guest speakers.

Healed with scars receives funding from donations provided by organizations, corporations and individuals. The organization continues to extend itself with hopes of welcoming many more survivors and their families.
